Abstract
EDITOR, - Tuan Nguyen and colleagues combined measurements of bone mineral density, muscle strength, and postural stability to predict osteoporotic fractures.1 This outperforms many previous protocols, but their use of discriminant function analysis to derive sensitivity figures in excess of 80% is both unusual and potentially misleading.
