Abstract
A macrocytic anemia developed in a 42-yr.-old woman after a short circuit operation on the small intestine, for regional ileitis. The anemia responded to liver extract. Macrocytic anemia developed in rats after the production of blind loops in the small intestine. Stagnation is considered to be the predisposing factor. Keywords
