Abstract
PPLO were demonstrated in the urethral exudate of 84% of patients with non-gonococcal urethritis, and in 79 of 100 such cases T-strain PPLO were isolated. PPLO were also demonstrated in the urethrae of 55% of individuals without urethritis, which indicates that other factors must be invoked to explain why PPLO may be pathogenic in 1 individual and saprophytic in another. Keywords
