Abstract

In summary our results lend support to the theory that “gliosis” in degenerating pyramidal tracts is only relative and is due to the shrinkage of the tissue. An analysis of individual types of glia cells participating in this type of gliosis was not made due to technical difficulties. Such as analysis should be a further step in the investigation of this problem.
