Abstract
Undergraduate students' involvement in a research project at Iowa State University is reported. The undergraduate project dealt with the application of the transient energy function (TEF) method to a large power pool in the Midwest. The project aimed at involving some advanced undergraduate students in realistic and meaningful electrical power engineering research and to give them a sample of the challenging problems available in the area of computer-aided power system analysisKeywords
