Abstract
The lipids partition and phospholipids turnover in plasma, liver and aorta of intact rabbits was determined 6 hours after subcutaneous injection of 1 mg/kg of epinephrine in oil. Significant changes were found in liver total lipid, ester cholesterol and neutral fat concentrations, and the plasma phospholipid level; but no alterations in the concentration of the different aortic lipid fractions. Specific activities of plasma and liver phospholipids were about 50% greater in epinephrine-injected rabbits while the aortic phospholipids turnover was 131% greater than in controls. The possible relationship of the latter finding to the development of arteriosclerosis was discussed. Keywords
