Abstract
Details are given of neotropical insects and mites with potential as biological control agents against C. odorata (L.) K. and R., an introduced plantation weed of the Old World. Previous introductions of Pareuchaetes pseudoinsulata Rego Barros (an arctiid defoliator) and Apion brunneonigrum B.B. (a seed-feeding weevil) are summarized, and the potential of these and other untried agents, including Acalitus adoratus Keifer (a gall forming mite) and Mescinia parvula Zell. (a stem boring pyralid) are discussed.
