Abstract
The purpose of this study was to show the influence of aluminium ions on the organic matter adsorption. The adsorption was realised onto powdered actived carbon (100 mg.L‐1), either in buffer medium or in distilled water. The value of pH was adjusted to 4.6. The results indicate ‐i) that buffer medium decreased the adsorption of molecules (phenol, tannic and salicylic acids), due to a competition between organics and buffer constituents, and ‐ii) that aluminium ions could increase the adsorption of some molecules (tannic and salicylic acids) by a complexation phenomenom. Langmuir equation was used to determine adsorption capacities. Keywords
