Abstract
The NIH consensus development process principles are reviewed. Two specific conferences on total hip joint replacement and CA T scanning of the head are examined with respect to the effectiveness of disseminating information concerning the conference both before and after the conference. It is concluded that in spite of efforts of reaching targeted physician groups, only about one-third of the targeted physicians are reached. Keywords
