Abstract
The cation radicals of C10F8 and several hydrofluoronaphthalenes have been prepared by oxidation with SbCl5/SO2, and their E.S.R. spectra recorded. McLachlan spin-density calculations have been carried out and the Q parameters for cation radicals containing fluorine have been determined. Possible explanations for the large fluorine splittings are discussed. Keywords
