Abstract
The temporal variation of the density of neutral mercury atoms in the constriction of a pulsed mercury discharge has been measured during the passage of a 36A, 50 μs current pulse by the method of resonance radiation absorption. A depletion rising to a maximum of 82% has been detected. Keywords
