Abstract
Single crystals of β-CuZn have been deformed in direct shear with a normal compressive stress superimposed at a high temperature, where non-{111} dislocations are activated. The shear systems studied were {100} {100}, {100} {110}, {110}{100}, {110}{110}. In the {100}{100} and {100}{110} shear systems the normal stress affects the shear yield stress, while in the {110} {100}, {110}{110} shear systems it hardly does. Keywords
