Abstract
From a recent calculation of the electronic structure of Ce [Phys. Rev. B 43, 3137 (1991)], Eriksson et al. conclude that the α phase is best described as a delocalized 4f-electron system. We show that the limited experimental evidences provided in support of this statement are not conclusive and do not allow one to discard the single-impurity model, which is consistent with all spectroscopic data. Keywords
