THE EFFECTS OF ADRENALECTOMY AND HYPOPHYSECTOMY ON BILE FLOW IN THE RAT

Abstract
Using a method which permits bile collection relatively free from stress or trauma, the bile flow in normal and hypophysectomized rats was studied. Hypophysectomy was found to result in a sharply reduced bile flow which was not increased by small doses of corticosterone or of deoxy-corticosterone. Adrenalactomy, previously reported to have x similar effect, was found not to reduce bile flow in either of the 2 strains of rats studied.
