Abstract
The average time and the sequence of eruption of each of the permanent teeth was determined by analysis of serial dental examinations of 16,000 children in a fluoridated and non-fluoridated community, preliminary to longitudinal studies of the incidence of dental caries. Eruption of the lower cuspid tooth preceeded that of both upper and lower first bicuspids in females, while the reverse was true in males. Consumption of fluoridated water (1.2 ppm) for varying periods of time had no apparent effect on eruption times or sequences. Keywords
