Abstract
9 cultures of the bifermentans-centrosporogenes group of spore-forming anaerobes were studied by means of the flagellar-somatic technic of the agglutination reaction. Identity of both H and O factors in representative strains of each of the species was shown by reciprocal agglutinin absorption. This serological evidence, coupled with the failure of Drake and Sturges and others to find valid morphological and physiological differences between strains of so-called C. bijermentans and C. centro-sporogenes, would indicate that the concept of a single species, C. bijermentans, is adequate. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
