Abstract
The ESR spectra of hydroxycyclohexadienyl radicals derived from the anions of pyromellitic and benzene‐pentacarboxylic acids have been observed in a rapid flow systen (Ti/H2O2). Owing to their highly charged nature, the radical lifetimes were sufficiently enhanced so that 13C satellite lines could be observed in natural abundance. The numerical values and assignments of the hyperfine coupling constants suggest a planar system and can adequately be described by a Karplus‐Fraenkel treatment. Keywords
