Abstract
A sensitive method for observing the function of the facial nerve in the cat is based on the analysis of evoked compound nerve action potentials. It was used to check nerve function in decompression of the facial nerve, and demonstrated that decompression—if performed with the utmost care—can be accomplished without measurable damage to nerve function. Keywords
