Abstract
ENEMAS are commonly used in medical practice, and the soap enema has been adopted for routine use by many obstetric units. Several adverse reactions associated with soap enemas have been well documented.1 2 3 An unusual complication of soap enema occurred in the following case.Case ReportA 23-year-old primipara was admitted to the delivery room in active labor at full-term. The prenatal course had been uncomplicated, and the past history was noncontributory. At 6:20 a.m. she was observed to be in active labor, with cervical effacement and dilatation to 5 cm. No abnormalities were noted, and a soapsuds enema was administered . . .Keywords
