Abstract
The recovery after quenching and after cold-work of an Al-Cd 1% alloy has been investigated by resistivity and hardness measurements. The presence of both a resistivity increase and a hardening, during the annealing at room temperature, suggests that pre-precipitation occurs also in the Al-Cd system. In addition, results confirm a previous hypothesis on the existence of an interaction energy between Cd and vacancies in Al.Keywords
