To the Editor: The article by Millichap on drug treatment of convulsive disorders (N Engl J Med 286:464, 1972) is a succinct summary of the author's highly individual opinions on the subject. Many of these opinions would be disputed by the majority of physicians working in epilepsy today, and a relatively inexperienced person might get a very biased view if he relied too strongly on Millichap's paper.The clinical or symptomatic classification of the epilepsies used in the article has the weight of precedent behind it, being essentially unchanged since Gowers's time.
