Abstract
Aqueous solutions of reduced glutathione affected the Shaffer-Hartmann (Somogyi) Cu reduction and the Folin-Wu Cu reduction. Glutathione did not affect the Cu reagent of Benedict in the presence of glucose. Mixtures of plasma and glutathione were submitted to various processes of protein precipitation. All the glutathione passed into the tungstic acid filtrate. Some of the glutathione passed into the filtrate when the Hagedorn-Jensen precipitation technic was followed, but none passed through in Somogyi''s technic. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
