Abstract
Haemoglobin "Barts" was found in the blood of an anemic West Indian newborn girl. No evidence of this abnormal hemoglobin variant was found in either parent, but the father was heterozygous for Hb S. By the age of 15 weeks "Barts" could no longer be demonstrated in the infants electrophoretogram. This is the second case found in this country. Keywords
