Abstract
A15 Intermetallic superconductors do not receive as much media hype as the high‐Tc ceramic variety but they are big business, especially in the superconducting magnets area. This rapidly growing research field which includes melt‐spinning and rapid solidification technology is surveyed, and a report of the synthesis of Nb3Ge with critical currents of 5 × 1010 and 8 × 1010 A/M2 at fields of 0 and 15 T respectively is reviewed. Keywords
