Abstract
In a single examination of 140 infants approximately 2 wks after neonatal circumcision, 28 were found to have ulceration around the meatus, an incidence of 20 per cent. The argument is advanced that meatal ulceration is the chief factor in the development of meatal stenosis, which, in turn, is an important cause of pyelonephritis in the young. A plea is made for postponing circumcision until the diaper stage has passed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
