Abstract
ALCOHOLISM IS a common,1,2 debilitating,3 genetically influenced,3-7 and heterogeneous6-9 disorder. Annually, approximately 100,000 deaths in the United States are attributable to alcohol abuse and alcoholism, making them the fourth leading cause of mortality after heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cancer.10Keywords
