Abstract
The nutrient input in rainfall was determined at 3 colliery spoil heaps in Yorkshire [England] and at a rural site. The only major difference between sites was a consistently high Na:K ratio in rainfall at the rural site. Losses of nutrients in surface runoff were estimated for bare and grassed colliery spoil. Substantial quantities of nutrients, added as fertilizer, may be lost from recently reclaimed sites. There was a net loss of Na, Ca and Mg from bare spoil but net gains of N, P and K from rainfall. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
