Abstract
This paper reviews recent research approaches to substance use disorders in schizophrenia with respect to etiology, problems with assessment, domains of vulnerability, and effects on course of illness.Also reviewed is one domain focused upon infrequently in treatment research of schizophrenia: nicotine dependence.Keywords
