Abstract
The role of the mental health clinician has changed dramatically with the advent of effective, safe, and reversible medical therapies for erectile dysfunction. A new role has evolved whereby clinicians identify and work through the powerful psychological resistance that develops prior to a medical/pharmaceutical intervention and which precludes successful utilization of these treatment methods. This paper highlights some of these forms of resistance and offers suggestions for overcoming them. Keywords
