Measurements of cardiac troponin T in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Abstract
To examine the relation between TnT concentrations (second generation assay kit) and echocardiographic findings in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), 30 consecutive patients with HCM were examined at the Hyogo Prefectural Amagasaki Hospital between 1995 and 2000. The mean age was 62.1 years (range 25–82 years). The diagnosis of HCM was based on the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy in the absence of any disorder causing chronic left ventricular pressure overload. In particular, no patient had a history of systemic hypertension, unstable angina or myocardial infarction.Keywords
