Abstract
The intergeneric hybrid of Triticum turgidum (2n = 4x = 28, AABB) with Hordeum bulbosum (2n = 2x =14, HbHb) resembles the female parent, but some characters from H. bulbosum also are present. The hybrid was somatically stable (2n = 3x = 21). Mean meiotic pairing was 19.07 univalents, 0.92 rod bivalent, and 0.03 trivalent. The observed chromosome associations may be due to intergeneric homoeology and/or homoeologous pairing between the A and B genome chromosomes of wheat. Meiotic restitution in the F1 aided in the production of (T. turgidum X H. bulbosum) X T. turgidum BC1 seed with the chromosome number ranging from 2n = 30 to 2n = 35.This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
