Nodular Cutaneous Elastosis with Cysts and Comedones (Favre-Racouchot Syndrome)

Abstract
Report of Case A 54-year-old outdoor laborer was seen at the Boston City Hospital because of numerous seborrheic keratoses on his trunk. In addition, the skin of his face appeared yellowish-brown and atrophic, with wrinkles, furrows, comedones, and numerous small nodules. These lesions had been present for 6 years, most pronounced in the periorbital region. The nodules measured up to 4 mm. in diameter, and some of them showed several comedones on their surface (Fig. 1). The comedones consisted of a soft, creamy material, which was easily expressed. The skin of the posterior neck was furrowed and thrown into intersecting folds, characteristic of ``cutis rhomboidalis nuchae'' (Fig. 2). Histologic examination of a biopsy specimen from the right temporal region revealed thinning of the epidermis with flattening of the rete ridges.
