A PREGNANT PATTENT WITH EISENMENGER'S SYNDROME

Abstract
The pregnancy and postnatal course of a patient with Eisenmenger's syndrome is described. The outcome was successful for both mother and child. It is suggested that, foi such a patient, labour should be induced when the foetus (if potentially viable) gives signs of failing to thrive, and should be conducted under a carefully monitored epidural block. The importance of maintaining adequate prophylaxis against puerperal thrombo-embolism is stressed.
