Abstract
For SEM [scanning electron microscopy] studies, Parducz fixative followed by critical point drying effectively preserved the flagella and external membrane of the armored dinoflagellate, P. cinctum f. westii from Lake Kinneret, Israel. The longitudinal flagellum had an external folded or ridged appearance for much of its length and a twin lobed structure at its base. The transverse flagellum in these specimens corresponded closely to the recent descriptions for a related strain of P. cinctum.
