Abstract
A simple telemetric method for monitoring heart rate in unrestrained small animals is described. A small transmitter is attached to a plastic case cemented to the skull of the rat and connected to implanted chest electrodes. The output of an FM receiver can be used to drive a counter or can be fed to a standard polygraph for recording purposes. Keywords
