Abstract
A rapid, inexpensive and sensitive technique has been developed for monitoring protein degradation in activated sludge. Spectropho‐tometric measurement of an enzymatically released dye was made within 5 h. The sensitivity of this technique was demonstrated by measuring the effects of HgCl2 (an anti‐microbial agent) on protein degradation. Keywords
