Measurements of magnetic moments inSm150

Abstract
The magnetic moments of the 41+ and 61+ states in Sm150 relative to that of the 21+ state have been measured by the transient field technique. The resulting g-factor ratios are g(41+)/g(21+)=1.60(12) and g(61+)/g(21+)=1.14(34). The g(41+)/g(21+) ratio is larger than expected for a collective band. To confirm this result a variety of measurements were conducted with both S32 and Ni58 beams at energies ranging from 80 to 230 MeV incident on targets with both iron and gadolinium ferromagnetic layers.
