Abstract
The magnetic moments of the and states in relative to that of the state have been measured by the transient field technique. The resulting g-factor ratios are g()/g()=1.60(12) and g()/g()=1.14(34). The g()/g() ratio is larger than expected for a collective band. To confirm this result a variety of measurements were conducted with both and beams at energies ranging from 80 to 230 MeV incident on targets with both iron and gadolinium ferromagnetic layers.
