Abstract
This paper discusses the application of the colloid titration technique to flocculation control. By using this technique, it is possible to develop a reliable relationship between raw water colloid charge, total alkalinity, and optimum alum dosage. The technique can also be used for the determination of the alum dosage needed to attain the isoelectric point for a given raw water. This technique yields information which can be used in a manner similar to electrophoretic mobility data, and can be used as a possible alternative to electrophoretic mobility measurements. Keywords
