Abstract
The quadrupole interactions of the states of have been studied by using time-integrated perturbed angular correlations after Coulomb excitation. The experiments have been performed by using 40-MeV ions to implant the tungsten nuclei in zinc single crystals of hexagonal structure. A strong electric quadrupole interaction has been observed and the electric field gradient acting on W in Zn has been evaluated using values for the quadrupole moments derived from transition probabilities and the rotational model.
