Abstract
A new genus is erected for the filarioid recovered from the common grey hornbill in India. It differs from Paronchocerca in having undivided oesophagus, in the absence of rod-like thickenings of the cuticle, and the anogenital papillae, in having 4 pairs of cephalic papillae and in the absence of terminal papillae on the tail in both the sexes. In having 5 pairs of caudal papillae, open anus, shorter tail, in the presence of cuticular rugae and in possessing postoesophageal vulva it differes from Paraprocta. It is assigned a place intermediate between the said genera under Ornithofilariinae. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
