Comment onP-state dominance in the hadronic production of narrow resonances

Abstract

We show that the process

gg \to P \to psion + a

(

a = hadron or γ

,

g = gluon

) explains the observed features in the hadronic production of

\frac{ψ}{J}

and

ψ^{'}

and the absence of hadronic production of

ψ^{''}

,

ψ^{'''}

, etc.
