Abstract
A translocation heterozygote, with a ring of 4 and 15 bivalents was found in a natural population of S. scilloides Druce. A single chiasma was formed in the interstitial segment between the kinetochore and point of interchange. The mean frequency of the single chiasma was estimated at 0.714. The mean frequency of equational AI separation of the two pairs involving the interstitial segments was 0.709. These 2 estimates are in good agreement with each other, and are said to provide further support of the chiasmatype hypothesis.
