Abstract
A far more convenient and rapid use of the moving average interpolation method may be achieved by choosing a dosage increment factor which is an integer root of 10; namely, V10,3/10. This produces a repetition of the dosage levels at successive multiples of 10 and simultaneously allows for the preparation of tables giving estimated LD50 or ED50 and their confidence limits directly from the observations. Four tables have been prepared using parameters which experience has shown to be most useful. The method is applicable for estimating the range of toxicity and/or potency as in screening programs; here the economic advantage far overshadows any disadvantage due to inaccuracy. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
