Energy spectra of the cosmic gamma-ray bursts

Abstract
Preliminary results of a spectroscopic study of gamma bursts in the KONUS experiment on Vernera 13 and 14 are surveyed. A brief discussion is given of the new instrumentation and data treatment procedure used. The characteristics of continuous spectra and of the absorption and emission features are considered. Evidence is presented for a fast spectral variability and a strong positive correlation between the hardness of the spectrum and gamma‐ray intensity which suggests that the instantaneous values of the source luminosity are determined by the temperature in the emitting region.
