Abstract
In a continuous-flow procedure, the turbidity resulting from the reaction between albumin and transferrin and specific anti-human sera has been measured in a photometer constructed for the purpose. Incorporation of two photoelectric cells and a special bridge built between the photometer and the recorder made possible the amplification of the sensitivity by as much as 30-fold. Further, a more economical intermittent flow of antiserum was used. The standard deviations for sera analyzed in duplicate (day-to-day) were 1.4 and 0.05 g/liter, respectively, for albumin and transferrin determinations. Values obtained by this method correlated well with values obtained by the electroimmunotechnique.
