Abstract
The author investigates the simple tight-binding picture of the s bands for trigonal and A7 lattices with inter-unit binding and find that odd-membered rings are required in a network model of amorphous arsenic. The symmetric s band requires a Green function which is even in each constituent bond. Keywords
