Abstract
Allozymic heterozygosity and polymorphism in permanent translocation heterozygotes are compared with those in chromosomal homozygotes. Contrary to expectations, chromosomal heterozygotes and homozygotes are similar in both regards. The ability to retain heterozygosity with self-fertilization differentiates the structural heterozygotes from the homozygotes. Keywords
