Abstract
The harvest mite occurs widely but often sporadically in the British Isles, more so on calcareous soil than on any other type. The larvae have been found in specific places on 12 mammals and 4 birds during the summer and been found over-wintering in the ears of rabbits and bank voles. Nymphs were reared from larvae with the observance of 2 conditions. not removing the larvae from the host until they are fully fed, then keeping them in soil that is moist. A review is made of the parasitic relations of the mite to man in various parts of the world,.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
