Abstract
The paper describes the femtosecond laser spectrometer used at the Institute of Spectroscopy, USSR Academy of Sciences, to carry out ultrafast spectroscopic experiments with biomolecules and presents the results of experimental studies of the primary photoprocesses occurring in the reaction centres, both intact and modified, of purple bacteria. The experiments have shown that the charge separation process proceeds with the participation of monomer bacteriochlorophyllKeywords
