Abstract
The lightfastness of dyed textile materials is one of the most important characteristics of ready goods. The dyeing light-fastness may be evaluated by the rate of dye destruction on the fiber. A kinetic method is proposed for the evalua tion of the dyeing lightfastness on textile materials. An investigation has been made of the effect produced on the dyeing lightfastness by the intensity and spectral composition of the light used for exposure, the spectral properties of dyed fiber, the dye concentration in the fiber, the dye reactivity, the state of the dye in the fiber, the nature of the bond between the dye and fiber, and the physical and the chemical constitution of the fiber. Keywords
